SEPTEMBER 8, 2017

Auditions for the 2017-2018 season will be held

on Friday, September 8.

Come to our mandatory Interest Meeting to learn more about auditions!

When: Tuesday, September 5th at 6:00pm

Where: Rena Marrs McLean Dance Studio (Room 316)

Auditions will consist of a 15-minute ballet warmup, across the floor technique, a short jazz/turn combination, and contemporary and hip hop combinations taught by our officers. Throughout the evening, we will have 15-30 minute breaks as the judges make cuts.

Some callbacks may be deemed necessary at the discretion of the director. After any callbacks, the dancers will be dismissed, and the results of the selected 2017-2018 team will be posted by the end of the night.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Please arrive 30 minutes early with:

your completed application
a headshot
signed constitution
your schedule (classes + extracurriculars)
$30 audition fee
physical release form
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18: parent/guardian release form

The 2017 auditions will begin at 5:30pm and are expected to conclude around 10:30pm.

LADIES: all black, form-fitting dance attire (i.e. leggings, leotard, tank top, crop top, etc);

GENTLEMEN: all black activewear

For the hip hop portion, dancers are allowed to wear sweatpants and/or a flannel if they so choose.

Please wear whatever feels appropriate and preferable to you. If you have ballet shoes, wear them for the ballet warmup. For technique, jazz, and contemporary, you may wear jazz shoes (tan or black), half sole turners, black socks, foot paws, or you may go barefoot. For hip hop, you may wear whatever feels appropriate (any color), though we recommend tennis shoes!
